Diva had an excessive sense of entitlement (1)

without a reasonable sense of reality (2)

She would back up her threats of imagined dominance (3)

not seeing at all the very real possibility of defeat (4)

But, she was still a kid and believed herself immortal (5)

That's what we love about the young (6)

Reality had still not become clear (7)

does it ever? (8)

It takes a while to grow up (9)

and sometimes if we are lucky enough, we see a young one grow with a little humility thrown in as a bonus (end)
